What is CEDR Mobile Sauna

True self-care shouldn't require a commute. CEDR brings the ancient, restorative power of a traditional wood-burning sauna to your doorstep — no memberships, no crowded locker rooms, no compromises.

Founder & Sauna Host

I'm Safu, the founder of CEDR. I grew up in Puerto Rico, where I spent years as creating and operating my own tour company leading hundreds of groups through El Yunque rainforest — teaching people to slow down, breathe, and actually feel where they were. I also worked as a butler for a couple of years and learned the other half of the craft: how to take care of people so well they never have to ask.

Then I moved to Michigan, and my first winter here nearly broke me. The cold wasn't the problem — the disconnection was. No warmth, no ritual, no place to reset. When I found traditional sauna culture, everything clicked: this was the thing my new home was missing, and everything I'd done before — guiding, hosting, caring for people — had been preparing me to deliver it.

So my wife and I created CEDR: one sauna, built the right way. All red cedar, a 7-foot ceiling you can actually stand under, a large window for watching the snow fall, and a genuine wood-fired Harvia stove with löyly stones. Not a barrel, not a tent, not infrared panels, no gimmicks -the real thing.

More Than Just Heat

Our sauna is built around the Finnish concept of löyly — the soul-soothing steam created by pouring water over hot stones.

Unlike electric or infrared alternatives, a wood-fired sauna delivers a primal, cozy atmosphere that engages every sense and reaches temperatures infrared simply can't.

You'll hear the fire, smell the cedar, and feel the wave of steam roll over you. That's the difference.

A Tool for the Body and Mind

Athlete Recovery — deep heat penetration to soothe sore muscles and speed up repair
Mental Clarity — cutting through winter fog and lifting the weight of seasonal blues
Physical Reset — supporting the body's natural recovery and circulation
Quiet Space — an intentional place to disconnect, exhale, and recharge

At its heart, CEDR is about making real recovery accessible to everyone who needs it — one driveway at a time.
